A Brunch of Stoners is a monthly private event that takes the average “Boozy Brunch” and transforms it into a stoner’s dream by replacing the booze with cannabis. Details explaining guidelines and revealing the address of the Brunch of Stoners event are sent out to ticket holders the night before.
The mystery of it all made the event more exciting and special, and when I walked in, I was greeted with the wonderful smell of flowers and a Brunch of Stoners crew who gave me an event guide, name tag, and raffle ticket. Chicken and waffles, Cheba Hut sandwiches, vegan hashbrowns, and pastries were served buffet-style with all food items having the option of being “infused.”
Coffee and water stations were set up for us coffee lovers, which also could be infused, as well as a popcorn station and a mocktail bar. The event guide was useful for people who were casual cannabis users or new to cannabis. The event guide kept track of cannabis consumption by punching each “Cannabis Stations.”
A Flower Bar included a choice of strains from Rythm and Ozone Reserve flower that could be smoked from Gravity Bongs. A Dab Bar, which I’m sad to say I did not visit, offered different strains than the Flower Bar.
Just like any other bar, the drinks were flowing. People sat at the bar and hung out, but the difference was there was not an ounce of alcohol in the drinks. Progressive Treatment Solutions provided the mocktails with its Tonic beverages. Infused drinks, such as Peach Sangria and Raspberry Lemonade, floated around in people’s hands as they conversed, played games, and openly smoked cannabis.
I chatted with brand reps, met more people from social media IRL, received some swag, bought a shirt, and won in the raffle. A Brunch of Stoners was a great time where I safely enjoyed a “stoney” brunch. To learn about cannabis-friendly events in Illinois, visit here.
