You will need to see a doctor, get a doctor’s recommendation, submit your application to the state, and pay the state’s registration fee. You do not need to see the same doctor for your renewal as you did for your original recommendation. When Do I Need To Renew My Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Card?
The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) requires all patients to renew their license every 60 days or 2 years. Patients can register for a 60 day medical marijuana card or a 2 year medical marijuana card. The 60 day medical marijuana card is termed a “short-term” license.
Keep in mind that you will not be able to renew your card until you’re within 30 days of the old card’s expiration date. For example, if your card expires December 10th, you won’t be able to submit your renewal application until November 11th.
Returning PrestoDoctor Renewal Patients
If you received your original doctor’s recommendation through PrestoDoctor, you’ll need to log back into your PrestoDoctor account here. After you login, select “Schedule a video appointment”. Remember, you do not need to see the same doctor for your renewal as you did for your initial appointment! You may pick any doctor that best fits your needs.
The system will automatically recognize you as a returning PrestoDoctor patient and discount your renewal appointment fee. After you complete the video appointment with the doctor, if you are approved, you will receive an updated recommendation form via email that you will use to renew with the state.
New PrestoDoctor Renewal Patients
If you received your initial doctor’s recommendation from a different provider- that’s no problem! You can still renew your card with PrestoDoctor. You’ll first need to create an account by clicking here and entering your email address and setting a password.
After you’ve created your account, verified your email, and created your profile you will be able to schedule a video appointment with the doctor. After your appointment, if you are approved, we will email you an updated recommendation form that you will use to renew with the state.
How to Renew With OMMA (The State Website)
In order to get a new, up to date physical card you will need to register and submit payment again with the state (Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority or OMMA). OMMA processes all the patient license applications. You will log back into your OMMA portal using the same login credentials you created when you applied for your first card. Click here to visit the OMMA sign-in page for returning users. If you do not have access to the email you originally registered with, you will need to contact OMMA for further assistance.
Once you are in the portal, you will have the option to submit your Patient Renewal Application. This will populate with all of your information. Be sure to check that this information is correct and make updates if needed. Next, you’ll upload the following items:
Personal photo
Reminder: your photo must be taken within the last 6 months. This means you will likely need a new photo for your renewal application.
Proof of Oklahoma Residency
Documents accepted include:
Oklahoma Driver’s License
Oklahoma ID,
Utility bill (excluding cellular telephone bills and internet bills)
Signed lease or residential property deed to property in Oklahoma
Tax return from the state of Oklahoma
Tribal Identification
Completed Physician Recommendation Form
You must submit this within 30 days of the physician signing the form.
Then, you will then need to pay a separate patient application fee to the state of $100 with a $4.30 service fee. The fee is now $20 if you have Medicaid, Medicare, or Soonercare patients.
Reciprocity in Oklahoma
Oklahoma allows visiting patients to access medical cannabis when in Oklahoma. Residents living in another state that have a valid MMJ card in their home state may apply for a temporary license to use and visit an Oklahoma dispensary.
This temporary card is valid for 30 days and cannot exceed that. Visitors can renew their Oklahoma 30 day MMJ license every 30 days.

Rent an apartment based on patient status

Visit or have custody of their child
Hold a state-issued license without suspension based on cardholder status
However, just because you are a cardholder does not allow you to sell or distribute marijuana without a commercial medical cannabis license. You cannot to use or possess marijuana at your place of employment. Lastly, being a medical marijuana patient does not necessarily give you the right to own a firearm. Many states prohibit you to have a medical marijuana card while owning a weapon.
Cultivation of Marijuana
According to Oklahoma law, medical marijuana patients can grow up to six mature plants and six immature plants (seedlings).
