When I first landed in Colorado a decade ago, Girl Scout Cookies was still a fresh cut and one of the most popular strains around. While tastes and interests have somewhat moved on, I still view the cultivar through a nostalgic lens. Rythm’s Cookie Face is a cross of two GSC phenotypes, doubling down on the classic strain, so I headed up to Rise Effingham and picked up a sample for a walk down memory lane.

Cookie Face is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of GSC and Dosido. This batch of flower tested at 0.67% THC, 28.1% THCa, and 28.76% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes were β-caryophyllene at 1.61%, limonene at 0.79%, linalool at 0.29%, and β-myrcene at 0.16%.

The eighth jar held a chunky medium sized Christmas-tree-shaped cola top alongside a smaller cola top piece and two smaller popcorn-sized flowers. Deep forest green and royal purple undertones created a very dark base flower. Rust colored orange hairs and a thick, milky trichome layer that sparkled in the jar caught the eye and added some variety to the visual character.

Opening the jar released an aromatic blend of sweet cream, hops, parsley, and cedar wood. These flowers were very dense and required some extra force to get through my grinder. The flavor was much more varied, carrying notes of mint, sweet dough, warm cream, cinnamon, vanilla, cacao, and musky funk. A richness to the flavor stuck to the palate for a long time post exhale.

Cookie Face is essentially a GSC backcross, and the effects reflect this lineage well. An opening rush of euphoric tingling and mental excitement temporarily lifted my energy levels. At the half hour mark, the physical aspect became much heavier, transitioning from surface-level tingles to a deeper sensation of pressure and warmth in my arms and core.

Mentally, my headspace remained open and easy going even as the physical pressure became heavier. Cookie Face was a flavorful reflection of the GSC parentage, and the effect profile was a good fit for end of day relaxation. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
