In the competitive world of corporate cannabis, a company’s reputation is only as good as its latest product release. New genetic releases, though, can be an opportunity to set new expectations for a brand. Ozone has a new batch of strains hitting menus, so I picked up a few samples from Ascend Horizon Drive to review, starting with Kush and Cream.
Kush and Cream is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Zkittles and OG Kush Breath. This batch of flower tested at 0.01% THC, 23.912% THCa, and 24.48% total cannabinoids.

This eighth came as two flowers, one a large pointed cola top and a smaller popcorn-sized nug. The base colors were a blend of bright lime and deep-forest green, mixing beneath bunches of thick bright-orange hairs, purple sugar-leaf remnants, and a dense and milky trichome frost. The bright colors and large flower made for an eighth with a considerable bag (or jar) appeal.
The aroma inside the jar was a blend of strawberry, sweet thyme, earthy forest floor, musk, and a sweet cream tone that was reminiscent of mascarpone cheese. The sweet cream tone came to the front on the palate with notes of thyme and artificial berry following. The musk tone lingered at the exhale, flipping an otherwise sweet flavor profile on its head. The name of the strain may be Kush and Cream, but the flavor profile was all cream then kush.
Kush and Cream fell hard into the indica end of the spectrum, providing a heavy couchlock sensation both mentally and physically. My mental train of thought simply stopped and a heavy perceptual haze set in as my mental activity slowed down. This was accompanied by a strong warm-weighted blanket sensation, pulling my entire body down. The combination of these aspects left me glued to the couch and made Kush and Cream a good choice for a nightcap.
