There is a never-ending list of ways to formulate an edible. Even within one label multiple approaches exist, from simple to the classic gummies. Ozone has released a candy labeled as a “soft chew” with a completely different formula, shape, and texture than the Sweet Indica Gummies I reviewed from the label back in May. I recently traveled to Ascend Horizon Drive and picked up a sample of the Red, White, and Berry soft chews.
Ozone Red, White, and Berry soft chews came as a 10 pack of soft chews with 10mg of THC per piece. The ingredients are sugar, tapioca syrup, sorbitol, citrus pectin (pectin, dextrose) glucose, artificial flavors, citric acid, sodium citrate, cannabis oil, botanically derived terpenes, artificial colors, malic acid, MCT coconut oil.
Each soft chew came as a roughly half-inch cube with waves of red, white, and blue, translucency carrying small-speckled dark-blue and bright-red dots and a glittering crystal-sugar coating on the exterior. The firm gumdrop texture chew put up some resistance to the bite and then gave way all at once.
The aroma was a medicinal and berry blend that was instantly recognizable to me as a spot on copy of Flintstones chewables from my childhood. The flavor was much more sweet with an upfront berry tartness, a long sugar note, and a light hint of cannabis bitterness at the finish. Interestingly, I detected less cannabis oil in the flavor than in the aroma.
Ozone Red, White, and Berry soft chews were a classic hybrid edible with effects hitting me fully at the forty-five minute mark. Waves of relaxation worked downward from their starting point at my crown before becoming heavier full body sensations as the high peaked. Mentally, my mind let go of silly stresses and became relaxed and irreverent.
The Red, White, and Berry chews were relatively long lasting with the relaxed mental state sustaining for almost two and half hours. The jack-of-all-trades hybrid effects made for an edible I could use any time. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
