The road to fruition has been a long one for Baked Buds, the first licensed Social Equity Infuser in the City of Chicago. But the time for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony is finally here.
Baked Buds applied for an adult use cannabis infuser license during the 2020 application period. The infuser company received its Notice of Award July 15, 2021, and Notice of License August 2 of that same year. Baked Buds was approved to be operational November 30, 2022 and the brand’s first product, CannaWerks, was delivered to dispensaries February 17, 2023.
Now, Baked Buds is set to host its official ribbon-cutting ceremony April 28. The ribbon will be cut at 10 a.m. in Chicago. As an Illinois licensed infuser, Baked Buds can also use distillate to manufacture vapor, edibles, beverages, tincture, topical, and capsules.
According to Baked Buds, CannaWerks are “Delicious cannabis gummies in uniquely designed flavors that maximize the natural ingredients’ efficacy and deliver a verified consistent dosing experience in take-anywhere individual packs.” CannaWerks currently come in three great flavors: Ruby Red Grapefruit Mint (to wake you up), Red Raspberry Yuzu (to keep you steady), and Mango Thai Basil (to calm and relax).” CannaWerks are flavored with active botanical terpenes, which work in concert with the cannabinoids (or THC) in the oil.
Baked Buds is committed to local, equity-based hiring, as well as internal promotions and employee enrichment programs. Further, as a cannabis infusion operator, Baked Buds is committed to partnering with local substance abuse organizations and initiatives in order to be a responsible participant in the state’s cannabis marketplace. In addition, Baked Buds is committed to partnering with online resources to provide information and counseling with respect to Youth Education.
Baked Buds has established its manufacturing facility in the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC), a socially conscientious manufacturing incubator that employs local Chicagoans and creates opportunities for individuals from DIAs.
