One of Illinois’ newest cannabis brands, Legacy, asked me to review some products. Working as a front-line worker in this industry, I (along with my co-workers) was confused about the strains because I thought it was just rebranding. Not so. As Sales Manager Ashley Grim told me, the new Legacy brand was one of the only completely independent companies in Illinois.
I enjoy going to different cannabis dispensaries, seeing the layouts, and talking (more like gossiping) to my fellow Budtenders. I headed up to EarthMed Addison to pick up my Influencer Box. The team was knowledgeable and personable, which put me at ease.
Lilac Cookies, bred by Ethos Genetics, is a cross of (Lilac Diesel and Forum Cut Cookies) and (Mandarin Cookies and Lilac Diesel BX3). This batch of Lilac Cookies tested at 24.87%THCa, 0.96% THC, 0% THCv, 0% CBD, 0% CBDa & 0.65% CBDa. The Terpene profile is 0.60% β-myrcene, 0.45%, α-caryophyllene, 0.33% limonene, 0.06% α-humulene.
Grove bags were used as packaging, which I’m seeing more here in Illinois, but I often am “bag prejudiced” and will pass on products. I had a few bad dry batches and have been turned off ever since. When I first opened my flower, aromas of citrus and hops hit my face immediately, along with notes of floral, fruit and gas, which lingered and danced around my nostrils.
At first look the buds were an army green, with the trichomes and pistils giving it that “camouflage look.” As I broke down the hand trimmed nugs, my fingers were sticky, and I smelled more of the citrus and gas combo from the aroma.
It was evening time, and once I settled in (it took me 10 minutes to find my remote so Lilac Cookies had me right), this indica-leaning hybrid put me in a euphoric state with the body high to match. Once I found my remote, the euphoria lingered, and I allowed the terpene combination to take over my body. I have no idea what TV show I fell asleep to.
