One of the things I miss most about working behind the counter at a dispensary is the opportunity to find out what others enjoy. Cannabis consumers have some of the most diverse tastes, and I never knew what to expect. During my time working in Missouri, one of the cultivars that seemed to be on everyone’s list was Bubba Fett. Recently, I had the chance to try a sample of this strain from Rythm.
Bubba Fett is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Stardawg and Pre-98 Bubba Kush. Picked up at Rise Effingham, this batch of flower tested at 0.70% THC, 26.41% THCa, and 27.11% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes included limonene, β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene, linalool, α-pinene, and β-pinene.
I opened the jar to two very large and dense cola tips. Dark green and purple hues gave the buds a very dark appearance in the jar. Clumps of rust colored hairs mingled with the creamy amber trichome frost that brought some additional color to the flowers.
Opening the jar released a rich and savory scent featuring notes of garlic, onion, earth, and black pepper. Smoking flipped the aroma on its head though, with flavors of sweet berry and cherry on the front end and earth and harsh black pepper coming in on the finish. I was fascinated by how different the aroma and taste were, as the sweeter tones were completely undetectable in the scent.
Every time I dosed, Bubba Fett hit me with a heavy weighted pressure at my crown and in my torso before I had finished smoking. My energy levels and motivation disappeared quickly and left me ready to melt into the couch or head to bed. Bubba Fett also piqued my appetite considerably.
Overall, Bubba Fett was the classic “indica” experience providing a fast acting heavy body buzz and relaxing me enough to get me ready for bed. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
