With Friday, May 19, set as the 103rd General Assembly last day for this legislative session for the Illinois House and Senate before adjournment, recently aligned cannabis stakeholders are making a final push for the passage of current cannabis bills and more.
The Alliance for Cannabis Equity (ACE) has set its legislative priorities and will be hosting a press conference to advocate for the passage of several cannabis bills and other important issues. The press conference is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at 555 West Monroe Street.
ACE includes community advocates, entrepreneurs, trade associations, and other stakeholders fighting for cannabis equity across Illinois. The alliance is “dedicated to repairing the harms from the War on Drugs, and ensuring equity in the cannabis industry.”
ACE is working with the Cannabis Business Association of Illinois to identify legislative actions that will benefit the entire cannabis ecosystem in Illinois. For more specifics on ACE’s legislative priorities, visit here.
