Revolution Cannabis’ latest addition to its lineup of Compound Genetics strains brings together two personally beloved cultivars: West Coast Diesel and Apples & Bananas. Intrigued by the possibility of a creation that surpasses the parent strains, I made my way to Enlightened Mt. Prospect to pick up a sample for this review.
Hawaiian Crown is a hybrid cross of West Coast Diesel and Apples & Bananas bred in-house by Revolution. This batch of flower tested at 1.08% THC, 23.53% THCa, and 25.79% total cannabinoid. The primary indicated terpenes were β-myrcene, ocimene, α-pinene, limonene, and β-caryophyllene.

Three large colas filled the jar. Trimmed into sharply pointed pine tree shapes, these turf green flowers carried a smattering of wispy orange hairs and an ambering trichome frost that gave the overall appearance a more yellow-orange color tone. More “spongy” than dense, Hawaiian Crown was fresh and bounced back nicely when pinched.
Upon opening the container, my nose encountered a complex bouquet of sweet pineapple, passionfruit, kiwi, orange peel, and diesel. When consumed, the primary flavors that came through were diesel, stony slate with hints of sweet pineapple and apple on the finish. The smoke was smooth, and the flavor lasted after the exhale.
In terms of effects, Hawaiian Crown provided a balanced experience. Pain relief and pressure reduction in my joints loosened me up physically while stimulating tingles moved through my arms and legs. Mentally, my mood picked up considerably and although my energy levels stayed the same, I was more talkative and open. I remained clearheaded for the duration.
