The Illinois Hemp Growers Association (IHGA) is scheduled to host its summer Membership Meeting this week. The meeting will include discussions about local hemp events, current legislation, the delta-8 controversy, and how to get involved.
The virtual meeting is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, July 7. Anyone who wants to become an IHGA member can sign up here. Members will “delve into the current legislative landscape surrounding hemp, with a particular focus on the ongoing controversy surrounding delta-8 in Illinois” and “the potential impact of new regulations and discuss strategies to ensure our voices are heard.”
Members also will discuss upcoming local hemp events, including workshops, conferences, and networking opportunities. Founded in 2018, The IHGA is a women-led benefit corporation supported by the sponsorship, donations, and dues of over 1,000 grassroots members. For more information, contact founder and CEO Rachel Berry by email at [email protected].
“We practice servant leadership, a philosophy built on the belief that the most effective leaders strive to serve others, rather than accrue power or take control,” Berry said. “We volunteer our time to increase our impact on the industry, help build community awareness, and encourage collective stewardship.”
