While I love tailoring my consumption for specific needs, settings, and times, there’s a certain charm to the jack-of-all-trades hybrid. It’s nice to have flower I can use anytime, so I enjoy keeping something from the center of the effect spectrum on hand. Rythm recently added a new spectrum-center hybrid to its genetic lineup, Fat Billy. I headed up to Rise Effingham to pick up a sample to review.
Fat Billy is a hybrid cross of GMO and Wilson. This batch of flower tested at 0.48% THC, 29.97% THCa, and 30.45% total cannabinoids.
This eighth came as two very large rounded flowers, one a distinct cola tip. Splashes of purple and large clumps of thick, bright orange hairs made for some visually striking buds. The flowers were dry on the surface, but they ground up with a nice fluffiness. Loading a bowl left a hashy greasiness on my fingers.
The aroma inside the jar was bright with notes of hot diesel, sweet strawberries, and sage on the front end. The back of the scent carried black pepper and mushroomy earthiness. The flavor inside the bowl was more dense and savory, with hot diesel on the inhale followed by spicy, rich black pepper on the exhale.
Fat Billy hit before the bowl was even done, providing a euphoric tingling sensation that started in my core and spread outward. Playful and relaxed, I noticed a significant mood lift that built after smoking. Fat Billy rode the hybrid line well, neither energizing or tiring me while still delivering on stress and anxiety relief.
My appetite was also piqued significantly every time I smoked. Fat Billy was a flavorful middle ground hybrid that consistently delivered “anytime” effects. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
