In a recent market report, vapes emerged as the second highest selling category in Illinois dispensaries, occupying over a quarter of all shelf space. When aiming to reach customers, vapes are becoming a crucial segment. Bedford Grow has responded to this demand with the introduction of its new live resin vape carts. I headed to Maribis Springfield and picked up a sample to explore the product firsthand.
Chicago Dawg is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of AJ Sour Diesel and Amnesia Coast. This live resin vape cart tested at 18.83% THCa, 66.83% Delta 9 THC, 0.41% THCV, 0.16% CBN, 1.21% CBGa, 0.44% CBG, and 87.88% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 7.45% of the total weight with terpinolene, ocimene, limonene, α-pinene, and β-caryophyllene being the heaviest.
Outside of the Bedford Grow branded glass oil chamber, the entire vape cart was white ceramic and wider than a standard vape cart, enough so that I had to switch out my usual slide-in battery for a standard stick.
The top of the flavor profile was a sweet and tangy blend of diesel and lime with hints of artificial cherry. The finish provided hints of pine and a combination of citrus and vanilla that evoked a dreamsicle. The flavor retained its brightness throughout the life of the cart making a great palate cleanser after meals.
Chicago Dawg provided an energy boost and a heavy-handed mood stabilization effect that left me very calm but focused on whatever task was at hand. The usual distractions didn’t catch my attention in the same way, and I was able to get out of my own way mentally.
A lasting tingling pressure set in near my wrists and ankles, a sort of arm and leg band as opposed to a traditional headband sensation. Overall, I left interested in sampling more of Bedford Grows large genetic library in this new format. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
