While I’m usually on the hunt for something different than the heavily sweet doughy strains that have been so popular for the last few years, London Pound Mints is the exception to this rule. To me, London Pound Mints is such a perfect picture of what that flavor profile can deliver, so I always take a chance when I find it or its progeny on menus. I discovered one of those offspring, a new strain called Mint Biscuit from Bedford Grow, on the menu at Maribis of Springfield.
Mint Biscuit is a hybrid cross of London Pound Mints and Cookies & Cream. This batch of flower tested at 2.48% CBGa, 0.76% Delta-9-THC, 25.49% THCa, and 28.73% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.47% of the total weight with β-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and α-humulene being the heaviest.

These Mint Biscuit bright turf green flowers were slightly larger than what I’d consider popcorn sized and crisscrossed by pale orange hairs. Lightly dusted with sparkling trichomes, the buds had a small amount of sugar leaf left in some of the harder to reach creases. A nice surface stickiness left the flowers attached to my fingertip after a light squeeze.
The sweet cakey aroma of London Pound Mints lived on in Mint Biscuit as a thick blend of cocoa, vanilla, buttery caramel, and roasted nuts that dominated the top of the nose. These sweet tones were held up by a rich undercurrent of malt, cheese, cedar, and moss. In the smoke, the cocoa, vanilla, and cedar came through the heaviest, remaining doughy without the accompanying sweetness from the aroma.
Mint Biscuit was highly functional at low doses, neutralizing my anxiety so much that at one point I blurted out loud, “I’m not worried about a thing.” The clarity I found was a good headspace for work, but Mint Biscuit wasn’t motivating or energetic. My body pulsed with tingly waves of euphoria at any dose, and Mint Biscuit worked well as a pain reliever.
Overall, I was happy to see the delicious sweet flavor that I love so much in London Pound Mints developed into something more complex and the functional effects could fit into my schedule at any point. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
