When it comes to pain-relieving strains, some can carry the rule, “You can’t hurt if you’re passed out.” But what about when you wake up in pain and can’t afford to sink into the couch all day? I faced such a dilemma when I awoke with a neck as stiff as clay and sore to boot. The usual energizing dabs I had on hand hadn’t done the trick. By the afternoon, I wanted to try something else, so I rolled up a few shorty cones of matter’s Butterscotch Willy by Pharmacann.
Butterscotch Willy is a hybrid cross of Banana OG and Papaya #3 crossed with a Tropicana Cookies F1 male plant. Picked up from Verilife River North, the testing results on this eighth showed the cannabinoids at 29.95% THCa and 1.34% THC with a terpene profile of 0.54% limonene, 0.30% b-caryophyllene, 0.24% linalool, 0.19% a-pinene, and 0.15% ocimene.
One large, very dense bud took up most of the jar and a few popcorn nugs to fill it up. The buds were a bright frosty green with veins of orange pistils wrapping the bud. The nose wasn’t powerful but carried the smell of woods with sweet hints of lavender and cinnamon.
When I lit up, I was pleasantly surprised by an intense fruity flavor, almost banana cream with more floral notes in the taste. The smoke was smooth and rich despite having rolled shorty cones, which can burn harshly.
A body buzz rolled in smoothly, starting at my legs but then encompassing me. There was a pleasant numbness from the cramp in my neck. The pain didn’t disappear, but that sharp edge was taken down and faded into the background. I wasn’t tired as expected, given the level of relief provided, but instead alert and articulate, with no restlessness. With a robust flavor profile and strong effects, this kept the pain at bay without sinking my ability to get things done. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
