One night earlier this year after an open mic, Lexi Costantini and Quinn James “were having a smoke sesh, ya know, like besties do” when James mentioned producing a show combining their passion for cannabis with comedy. Costantini had already been producing shows for a little more than a year in Chicago, so the two joined forces and founded CannaBesties.
“Seshes turned into production meetings, and it wasn’t long before we got the joint rolling,” Costantini said. Now, the co-producers will be hosting their first event, The CannaBesties Show. CannaBesties will host the CannaBesties Show at The Raven Room from 4:20-6:00 p.m. April 20.
“Come celebrate the highest of holidaze with your CannaBesties at Redline VR,” Costantini said. “We have an amazing line up of some of Chicago’s hottest comics with infused drinks and edibles brought to you by Contact Canna and Artet (included with ticket). And while we can’t light up our blunts or bowls, please feel free to bring your own carts and concentrate (no open flames please) to consume during the show.”

“The CannaBesties represents an ideological shift in how society perceives marijuana,” Costantini said. “We’re taking it out of the shadows and onto the stage. Illinois’ cannabis industry is not only a means for economic growth, but there is a strong sense of community and camaraderie. We want to have a space where we can come together and laugh, all while enjoying and loving an amazing plant that helps so many people.”
CannaBesties looks forward to hosting a Pride Month event, with more and different products to showcase. The the co-producers are focused on launching two new shows in addition to The CannaBesties, and the creation of their production team Pizza Bagel Productions.
