High-Minded Events is set to host the 2023 Higher Love to kick off Pride Month Thursday, June 1. Higher Love is scheduled for 6-10 p.m. at the PalmHouse in Evanston. The PalmHouse is located at 619 Howard Street.
High-Minded Events owner and founder, Phil Cooper recently opened an official headquarters in Rogers Park and has been putting the final touches on the event. Cooper invites all LGBTQ+ budtenders, buyers, and their allies to come kick-off pride at the second annual Higher Love.
The annual Higher Love event allows budtenders and industry professionals to engage with brands while celebrating the joy of a Chicago summer. Tickets can be found here.
“We can’t celebrate pride without drag queens,” said Cooper, “and we’re proud to announce that this year’s event will be hosted by Bambi Banks Coulee, with other fabulous performances.” Performing will be Bambi Banks Coulee, ziggy banks, Sativa Feliciano Diamond, and Smokey Karmichael.
Cooper believes events that he designs help normalize cannabis and should be available for on-site consumption. Higher Love welcomes the consumption of cannabis openly and honestly. There will be no sales or re-selling of cannabis at this event. All attendees must be 21 and older, with valid proof of identification at the door.
Along with its website, High-Minded Events can be emailed at [email protected] and be found on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram @highmindedevents.
Sponsors for the event include Tonic, Good News, Aeriz, nuEra, Rythm, Ozone, Verano, Blazy Susan, OCB, Puffco, The Botanist, Freeminded, Ediblz, CannaWerks, Sweet Buzz, The 1937 Group, Chicago NORML, Spliff Society, CannaDevices, Artet, Seed Talent, and Kaviar.
