The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) released its June 2023 medical cannabis sales totals. For the last three months, monthly sales totals performed weaker than the three years since Illinois legalized recreational use. June totals reached $27,027,872.42, including $12,785,438.69 in dry flower sales and $14,242,433.73 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 63,537 unique patients, who purchased 1,264,882 grams of dry cannabis.
For 2023, monthly totals continue to hover around $27-$28 million. Total 2023 retail sales by licensed medical cannabis dispensaries totaled $165,812,213.19. Total Retail Sales since November 2015 by Licensed Medical Cannabis Dispensaries totaled $1,804,587,711.21. Total 2023 wholesale sales by cultivation centers reached $185,733,694.93, and total wholesale sales since November 2015 by cultivation centers totaled $357,877,955.78. Illinois has been stuck on 55 medical cannabis dispensaries for a few years with no future plans to add more.
