The list of cannabis brands to choose from on dispensary menus seems to be expanding by the day, and even we are losing track. So we created Know Your Brand, an educational series to help readers, followers, and consumers learn more about new and established cannabis brands in Illinois. We kick off our Know Your Brand series with Kaviar.
The Kaviar brand originated in Colorado in 2016 and entered the Illinois market this year. Kaviar produces exotic craft flower and a 1.5-gram Kaviar Cone infused with oil and kief. The Kaviar Cone currently is the only “1.5g” infused preroll on Illinois dispensary menus.
Kaviar cultivated strains include Blue Unicorn Poop, PB & J Fritter, Tangie Berry, Gelato Cake, Super Petrol, Mimosa, Apple Fritter, and more. Cultivation Methods: “At Kaviar Grow, our all-encompassing approach values the whole cannabis plant, and goes beyond simply testing our flower for THC. We aim to provide consumers with a premium smoking experience that includes not only heightened THC levels, but prioritizes diverse terpene profiles that uniquely enhance the effects of each strain. Our craft grow is focused on hand-selected strains that are picked for their quality over quantity, with above average terpene profiles and THC content. The average amount of terpenes in cannabis flower is 0.5%, and our standards for Kaviar flower require a minimum of 2% terpenes. We hire 1 grower for every 1,000 square-foot to maintain a high level of accuracy and control when dealing with plant manicures and defoliation. Our efforts are two-fold, to grow flower with high enough quality to include in our Kaviar joints, but also to be enjoyed by the entire recreational market.”
