Illinois News Joint has an improved Events Calendar page with updated features that allow readers to stay informed about upcoming cannabis-related events in Illinois, including a few we will be attending. The Events Calendar includes a diverse range of events, from educational seminars and industry conferences to music festivals and art exhibits. As the Illinois cannabis industry continues to evolve, Illinois News Joint will provide the best comprehensive guide to the most significant events happening across the Prairie State. Here are just a few examples of some of the 420 events on our calendar.
NuEra is celebrating 420 with outdoor parties, including in Champaign-Urbana and Chicago. For the Champaign-Urbana April 20 celebration, check out nuEra Urbana’s parking lot party. There will be food trucks plus specials on cannabis products, treats, and rewards. Thursday, the event will offer free pizza from Flour & Fire pizza truck from 3-7 p.m. and free frozen treats from Ice Daddy’s truck from 2-5 p.m. (while supplies last), courtesy of Ozone and Simply Herb. From 12- 4 p.m. in the parking lot, Monster Grilled Cheese & More truck will offer sandwiches available for purchase. Party people can have their face painted and shop products by local vendors as well. NuEra Urbana is located at 105 East University Avenue. Stop by the Illinois News Joint booth while there and say hi.
The nuEra Chicago event is located at 1308 West North Ave. and will run from 12-6 p.m. Verano is offering free eats from Cevapcici Chicago, while Grassroots Cannabis is providing a glass-blowing demo and showcasing items by Essex Glass. Entertainment is sponsored by Ozone and Simply Herb Cannabis and includes a Blues Brother/Chris Farley impersonator by BASH from 12-2 p.m., DJ Gemini Jones spinning 420 tunes from 2-3:30 p.m. and again from 4:30-6 p.m., a live set by Cofresi from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and Spin Graffix airbrushing custom canvas bags with nuEra logo. Additionally, visitors can check out the local vendors market, featuring Shuga Records, David Leonardis Art Gallery, Kokorokoko, One Tail at a Time, and more. Cann and Wyld swag giveaways, penny samples, discounts, and prizes, and the Cash Cage game for rewards points are also available. The retail store is opening one hour early, and 420 hours are 9-8 p.m. Social consumption at or near nuEra locations is not allowed per state regulations.
Join Blooms Brothers Hydro, located in The Apple House in Terre Haute, Indiana, for its upcoming class from 8:30-10 a.m. EDT April 22. The Apple House is located at 2611 South Harding Ave. in Terre Haute. This class aims to teach growers about the benefits of beneficial insects and natural controls, and how they can contribute to a healthier garden and ecosystem. Instructor and Manager Fred Sanders will cover common insect pests in the area and the best predators for control. Additionally, he will discuss fungal problems such as Powdery Mildew, blights, grey molds, and others, and their appropriate controls. This is a free opportunity to expand knowledge and improve gardening skills.
High Focus Media is hosting a three-part Smoke Lounge series at Replay Lincoln Park, located at 2833 North Sheffield Avenue in Chicago. The event will be part of Replay’s That 70’s Show pop-up and will take place on April 16 from 7-10 p.m., as well as on the April 26 and April 28 from 6-9 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their own stash to enjoy on the SESH Bus.
Join Aroma Grow Wheeling April 29 for the world internet premiere of Frenchy Dreams of Hashish. The movie will be shown on a 20” screen, with the option to enjoy the screening outside by the bonfires weather permitting. The $15 ticket includes food and drinks, and 20% of all ticket sales will be donated to the Origins Council, a non-profit organization important to Frenchy and his wife Kimberly Hooks. After the screening, stay for the after party where ticket holders can virtually meet up with Kimberly and others in cities around our time zone and enjoy a Hash Hookah session. The movie starts at 7 p.m., and the after party will be from 8:30-11:30 p.m.
Grow5 Bradley is commemorating its one-year anniversary with an event from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 24. This event will include vendors, food, giveaways, and more, and is open to all.
