Some consumers may chase experiences weighted towards one side of the indica-sativa spectrum, but there’s a real reward to identifying cultivars from both columns that can satisfy my needs. While I’m usually looking for something that can punch up my energy and focus, there are a few indica strains that I’m loyal to when I need some relaxation. GG4 is just such a cultivar. I recently picked up a Paul Bunyan GG4 1g preroll from Progressive Treatment Solutions at Consume Marion to see how the label presented the calming strain.
GG4 is a hybrid cross of Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. This preroll tested at 1.17% THC, 21.66% THCa, and 23.25% total cannabinoids.
I popped the top to a standard 1-gram cone that had loosened up considerably in transit. With some careful adjustment and a re-twist for the tip, the preroll burned clean and even. The scent inside, and a couple dry pulls, revealed a savory mix of black pepper, wild onion, garlic, and a creamy butter note near the finish. The flavor carried the same savory tones as the aroma with some surprising additions of tangy diesel and green jalapeno at the inhale.
As the preroll burned down, pressure started to mount in my core while waves of light tingling began to move through my arms and legs. My eyelids became very heavy and eventually my entire body was weighed down. A distracted mental cloudiness set in after the physical effects, and I was subdued into lying on the couch watching TV.
The physical sensations worked to release a back ache that had been troubling me for a few days and by the end of the experience the heavy mental cloudiness gave way to a relaxed but clear headed mindset that stuck with me for a few hours. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
