Hunting for the right strains to produce quality hash rosin is more art than science, but one cultivar has become a trusted “washable” strain, GMO. I’ve encountered the Aerīz cut of GMO in flower form before, but I recently picked up a sample of the live rosin format from Trinity Compassionate Care.
GMO is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Chemdawg and GSC. This batch of live rosin tested at 8.03% Delta 9 THC, 73.28% THCa, 0.15% CBDa, and 85.36% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes were limonene at 1.26%, β-myrcene at 1.2%, β-caryophyllene at 0.83%, and α-humulene at 0.44%.

This gram presented as a messy clump of deep amber-orange badder. The creamy rosin was easy to dose and use with the texture of wet taffy, stretching mildly before a piece came off. A wet sheen of terpene-heavy oil floated to the top where I had manipulated the rosin after each session.
The scent inside the jar carried notes of wild garlic, fresh mushroom, forest floor, and faint mint, all tied together by a creamy undertone of butter. The flavor carried the savory character well, providing more creamy butter and harvested garlic notes, as well as freshly turned earth at the finish. The flavor profile was just as heavy as the scent, sticking to the palate for a long period post exhale.
GMO is known to be a heavy hitting indica and this example is no exception. A heavy full-body pressure set in quickly, while my mind released any and all worries and a relaxing headspace overtook me. While my energy level remained the same, my motivation to do anything was sapped.
The physical relief was strong as all the chronic pressure at my joints disappeared, an effect that lasted well over an hour. Overall, this was a flavorful presentation of a classic rosin strain. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
