I’ve been reviewing Bedford Grow’s new cultivars based on the strain Amnesia Coast, and I’ve saved my most anticipated for last. I was a big fan of the other half in this cross, Kachook, so I’d been looking forward to sampling its progeny, KaChow, since I picked up a sample at Maribis Springfield.
Kachow is a hybrid cross of Kachook and Amnesia Coast. This batch of popcorn flower tested at 0.66% CBGa, 0.72% Delta-9-THC, 28.07% THCa, and 29.45% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.47% of the total weight with β- myrcene, β-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and α-humulene being the heaviest.
This quarter came filled with a mix of small roughly cut budlets and bud pieces. Deep green with small flecks of bright purple and wiry dried orange hairs with traces of milky trichomes frost at the creases, the coloring was uniform throughout the jar. All the material was dense, even the smaller bud pieces.
The aroma from the jar was a dense blend of diesel, skunk, earth, pine, and green bell pepper. Under combustion, the diesel and pine stood out alongside a surprising addition of cedarwood that had gone undetected previously. The flavor hit with similar skunky diesel, pine, and earth with back notes of sweet citrus and hops.
The KaChow experience was felt in waves with a strong headband pressure contrasting against a floating sensation in the body that seemed to come and go. Mentally, I was cleared of anxiety and worry, letting go of anything I had been turning over in my head.
The physical come and go aspect was much stronger than the simple mental clarity making for an interesting overall experience. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
