I enjoy when large-scale cultivators begin growing genetic lines I have also cultivated. The opportunity to compare and contrast the results adds to a grower’s excitement. I have been a fan of Humboldt Seed Company’s strains for quite some time, so I was pleased to discover Rythm was now producing the strains in Illinois. To explore what Rythm had achieved with these familiar genes, I picked up from Rise Effingham a sample of Poddy Mouth Live Resin.
Poddy Mouth is a hybrid cross of Humboldt Poundcake and Mountaintop Mint, bred by Humboldt Seed Company. This batch of live resin tested at 1.512% THC, 72.725% THCa, and 74.237% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent terpenes were limonene at 3.14%, β-caryophyllene at 2.69% and β-myrcene at 0.84%.
Poddy Mouth was a slightly ambering yellow badder with a translucency provided by the robust moisture content. There were a few visible solids but most were too small to be seen with the naked eye. Scooping revealed an easy to dose gel-like texture.
The aroma waiting in the jar was bright with mint, eucalyptus, and pine forest notes on the front with greener notes of cucumber and melon rind creating a clean finish. The flavor profile was a world apart from the mint and pine heavy nose delivering sweeter flavors of heavy cream, lemon zest, and sweet mixed berries.
Poddy Mouth delivered a fast-acting, center of the spectrum hybrid experience. Especially notable was the physical pain and inflammation relief that built over time, culminating in an overall sensation of weightlessness that persisted for more than an hour. Mentally, I was relaxed but still highly attentive, and while the pace of my work wasn’t fast, I found it easy to lock into the task at hand.
The contrasting flavor profile and strong physical relief of Poddy Mouth delivered a win for me and left me interested in trying the raw flower. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
