I respect Revolution Cannabis‘ robust breeding program, with the company going so far as curating its own in-house cuts of world-famous strains. Revolution’s newest release is exactly that, an exclusive cut of Gelato named Revlato 41. I recently stopped at Enlightened Mt. Prospect to pick up a sample and see what Revolution has brought to the well-known genetics.
Revlato 41 is a hybrid cross of Sunset Sherbert and Girl Scout Cookies (Thin Mint Cut). This batch of flower tested at 0.7% THC, 26.97% THCa, and 28.81% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes wereβ-caryophyllene, limonene, β-myrcene, linalool, and α-bisabolol.
This eighth presented as one large cola tip alongside a handful of smaller popcorn style buds. Deep forest green, the bright orange hairs gave the buds a contrasted appearance and the trichome frost was sparkling and visible. These flowers were particularly dense, putting up some resistance to a light squeeze, but they still ground up with a satisfactory fluffiness.
The aroma inside the jar was richly organic with notes of sweet-pine forest, freshly turned soil, bergamot, and a floral, almost soapy finish. The scent really blossomed after breaking down the flower, adding a tangy diesel note to the complex mix. The gassy and floral notes shine on the palate with the tangy diesel on the inhale and the lighter soapy flower notes creating a clean finish.
A heavy full-body buzz set in almost immediately, creating weight in my head and chest. Mentally, I was energized but turned inwards, becoming creative but introspectively so. Despite the self-examination, Revlato kept me calm with a wide-open spacious mindscape.
Eventually, the body buzz became more intense, to the point of distraction. I enjoyed the complex flavor and calm but physically heavy effect profile, and I’m excited to see what new strains Revolution creates with this as a parent. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
